Position of a project coordinator for Systematic Tipping Point Analysis at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Potsdam, Germany

The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research is looking for a project coordinator for Systematic Tipping Point Analysis in the field of integrated Earth system analysis, starting on 1 April 2023 or earlier. The Tipping Points Modelling Intercomparison Project (TIPMIP) project is part of the Earth Commission which was established in 2019 as part of the Global Commons Alliance. The Earth Commission assesses and quantifies safe and just Earth system boundaries on a global scale for people and the planet, it underpins the setting of science-based targets for the global commons. As a project coordinator, you will work in the field of earth system- and tipping-point-analysis and be responsible for the structural setup of the TIPMIP office. Five Post-doctoral or PhD researchers in Land Use & Ecosystem Change at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany

The Land Use & Ecosystem Change Research Group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany is seeking to appoint up to 5 quantitative Environmental Scientists on the topic of Land Use & Ecosystem Change as either post-doctoral researchers or PhD students. The successful candidates will undertake research on the integrated impacts of societal, environmental and policy change on land use and ecosystems at large spatial scales (national to global), including contributing to the LandSyMM modelling framework (https://landsymm.earth/). Postdoctoral Position on GOES Fundamental Climate Data Record at NC Institute for Climate Studies, Asheville, NC, USA

North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies of NC State University at Asheville, NC is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar working in the area of satellite data analysis to support the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) Fundamental Climate Data Record (FCDR). The postdoc will work closely with researchers from NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information and other international organizations including EUMETSAT to coordinate efforts in the GEORING project, review and assessment of calibration approaches for historical GOES data, definition of a GOES FCDR format with NOAA and international collaborators, and preparation for data processing including investigation of on-prem and cloud computing options.
